Although preparing a sample is extremely difficult for SEM it is well worth the effort to see something 20,000 times larger than it is in real life. The ability of maginifcation to let us see things that are beyond our eyes capability is beautiful. The microscope has allowed us to see a new wonderful world of creatures like these water bears above. Anyone with a microscope can see these creatures and there is even one large species that we can see with our naked eye.
